Red LED on MacBook Pro's headphone port

I recently purchased a retina MacBook Pro and I noticed that a red LED glows when I unplug my headphone jack from the port. Audio works fine on the headphone as well as the internal speakers. Why is this LED glowing? Should I worry about this? Please

Red light means sound output is in the digital mode set for headphone.

Plug the headphone in and out of the headphone port couple of times to flip the switch.
