legacy Java SE 6 runtime?

Since upgrading to Yosemite, when I try to open Adobe Illustrator CS6, I get the message, To open “Adobe Illustrator CS6” you need to install the legacy Java SE 6 runtime. When I click on more info it opens a blank page. Can somebody tell me how to remedy/resolve/install this?

Hi, After going to the Apple store (where nobody seemed to know anything about the problem) , I tried the "more info" link again later that night and "hey presto" it took me to the download page for Java SE 6 runtime on Apple.com. I downloaded it and now working fine! I suggest try again it might be there now? It was for me.......good luck.

I was dealing with same issue on Safari for days, kept getting a blank page. Though maybe the page had heavy traffic and wasn't loading, so I kept going back and still was getting a blank page - then I decided to try it on Firefox, page came right up and I was able to downloading and install in about 60 seconds. The funny thing is - once I did this using Firefox, the issue of Safari "self corrected" and the page started coming right up.

(funny how these problems tend to fix themselves after you solve them - as much as I love Apple, this seems to be a reoccurring theme)

Dont know if that will help you or anyone else, but thought I would share what worked for me.. Hope it helps.

I finally did reach the download site for Java SE 6 runtime. However, as the download started I my iMac crashed in a big way. I had to manually power down and restart. Since then Safari will not work. Anytime I follow the Java SE 6 download instructions the iMac tries to open Safari which no longer works. I really do not miss Safari but since OS X has it hard wired into all web links I have to do extra work to move a link into Firefox. Life should not be so difficult.
