Aug 26, 2015 10:29 AM in response to Andres_rubio514by Tony Barraza,I've found that manually deleting all my shortcuts on my iPhone, and then creating a few new ones, has kept the old zombies from reappearing. It's been about 5 days now and no zombies. I don't know if anything has happened in the background or with the latest iOS update, just making a note of it to see if someone else can verify or de-verify.

Thanks.

Sep 1, 2015 11:11 AM in response to Pickinicby prsammy,I've been following this post for weeks now. Of all the different solutions and methods suggested here, this is the only one that has effectively worked for me. Since I followed these steps about a week ago, I've had zero zombie shortcuts reappear on my list and I've continued to add and delete without any hassle whatsoever – even after multiple reboots. Thank you so much!

Sep 1, 2015 11:16 AM in response to Pickinicby prsammy,- Backup iPhone to iTunes (Do this with a direct connection to your computer, not a backup to iCloud).
- Install the app iBackupBot on your Mac or PC and open it (the app can be found by googling iCopyBot).
- Navigate to System files > KeyboardDomain.
- Delete the "CoreDataUbiquitySupport” folder (it contains the corrupted CloudUserDictionary file(s) that are causing the zombies).
- I had a couple more keyboard sounding files from 2013 in the KeyboardDomain folder. One was another CloudUserDictionary.sqlite (I forget the other 2). If you find any of those old files from 2013, delete them as well.
- Exit iBackupBot.
- Restore the iPhone from the backup created in step 1 that now has the corrupted files deleted.
- Do the same process for the iPad or any other devices you have other than a Mac.
- When done reboot both everything.
- Clean up your shortcuts on all devices including Macs - They may not be the same.
- I deleted all shortcuts on the Mac as they were stubborn. Don't worry the Mac will begin to sync and restore only your non-zombie shortcuts.
- Go to bed! Stuff takes a long time to fully sync.
- Once everything has synced I found it easier to just delete all of my shortcuts and only type in the ones I wanted to keep into one of the devices (and let it sync them to the others) as there were duplicates on various devices including the Mac.

Sep 2, 2015 7:04 AM in response to organicultureby EyeMustDecrease,And now? Did that easy fix really stick?
-
Sep 8, 2015 11:58 AM in response to Jsai Joeby Irelandjnr,Exactly. This issue is currently un-fixable from the user's end.

Sep 13, 2015 12:59 PM in response to callumbessasagrantby Jdub.Laf ,I have tried all these solutions and still my shortcuts return. I have so many duplicate and obsolete shortcuts it is not silly. And this has been going on for a few years with major and minor iOS upgrades. I am a major Apple customer with many products. I've watched as many users in many web sites have expressed frustration with the same problem. Apple created this problem. It is inexcusable that they have let this problem go unsolved for so long. And with all due respect, starting over as in setting up as a brand new iPhone is not an acceptable solution. I'm guessing the iOS 9 upgrade will not fix this any more than 8 or 7 did. I expect more from Apple.

Sep 13, 2015 6:30 PM in response to prsammyby AKWMPcom,Thats a ridiculous solution....Apple should focus on perfecting their software rather than selling watches people don't want or can't afford. PS- waterproof had only been available for years.... We spend and spend and spend..... For limited Ram and operating software that gets glitchier every week!!! I may take my Disney Dollars elsewhere- maybe Sony?!

Sep 17, 2015 7:58 AM in response to AKWMPcomby neatfreakgeek,iOS 9 has not resolved this issue. i removed all my shortcuts yesterday after updating. they were back this morning.

Sep 17, 2015 9:33 AM in response to AKWMPcomby AKWMPcom,Yup, still no fix- what a joke they are becoming. Watch OS2 delayed.... Not that I'd buy their watch. And Siri makes as many mistakes as before I'm finding in iOS9! If I worked for CNet I'd say "Bad Apple!!"

Sep 17, 2015 9:55 AM in response to AKWMPcomby neatfreakgeek,Watch is awesome and I'd rather them delay the update to get it right.
Meanwhile I've switched back to Fleksy -- going to see if 3rd party keyboard are more stable on iOS 9.

Oct 18, 2015 11:22 AM in response to callumbessasagrantby PDen66,I think I have the solution for this:
I had this issue for ages. My son thought it would be hilarious to change 'Hi' to 'Beavers eating pancakes in Space' and I could not delete it for whenever I did it just came back a few hours later.
I tried to delete it by going to Settings -> General -> Keyboards -> Text Replacement and then I swiped left to delete the entry and it disapeared for a short while, but then it would always return.
I discovered that there is a second way to delete these shortcuts, and this worked for me. Instead of swiping left on the shortcut you want to delete instead hit the 'Edit' link at the bottom of the screen and then hit the red '-' next the shortcut.
This worked for me.
I have an iPhone 6+ with iOS 9.0.1.
