Time Machine Backup
My external hard drive have other files and data on it. If I am using the Time Machine Backup the 1st time, could the data on my external hard drive be deleted?

It will certainly complicate things, it is really best to use a separate external drive for Time Machine, & that it be at least twice the size of the internal drive.
Hi BDAqua, thanks for your reply. Do you mean also that every single Mac I use, need a separate external drive for Time Machine? One single external drive (2TB) cannot allocate to different Mac Time Machine?
Well you can, especially by partitioning that drive, but it's a matter of all your eggs in one basket, there are two kinds of hard drives, those that haven't failed yet, & those that have. 🙂
Users that cannot afford to lose their data will usually have 2 or 3 separate external backups of every internal drive.
