Change Forum Username

I dont know how I ended up with a username that advertises both my name and city of residence (I would never choose such a name if I knew it would be posted publicly), but for privacy reasons I'd like to set my forum username to something that isn't so personal. Searching the forums has led me to believe that there is no way for users to do this, but that mods might be able to assist me. How can I contact a moderator to request a change of username?

I'm confused.. How do I go about changing my username? You stated the hosts were notified but I haven't heard anything. It has my name and location in it and I'd really like it to be something not so identifying.

Changing user names isn't an exact science, it doesn't always happen, everything is done at the discretion of the hosts. In your case I think it may have been overlooked during a shift change, we'll never know. I'll put in a second request.

Out of curiosity: is "thelebowski" the name you wanted changed? I'm asking because you said your name has your location in it and I don't see any location.

As well, the hosts have gotten a bit more willing to change names at the drop of a hat; the rules used to be: unless it is a security concern, user names did not get changed. And, the decision is completely up to them - if they do not contact you, it usually means that they are not going to entertain your request.
