I dont know how I ended up with a username that advertises both my name and city of residence (I would never choose such a name if I knew it would be posted publicly), but for privacy reasons I'd like to set my forum username to something that isn't so personal. Searching the forums has led me to believe that there is no way for users to do this, but that mods might be able to assist me. How can I contact a moderator to request a change of username?

I just register and fooled myself and the browser into accepting a username that obviously includes my name (not that common) and my city of residence. I'd like to change this for privacy reasons. Thanks!

Hmm, this appears to be the same reply as one from above, after scrolling/searching I've yet to see the solution. When I go into https://appleid.apple.com/account/manage I ONLY have the option of changing:
Account
APPLE ID
But it's not my EMAIL I need to change it's the NAME (MyactualfirstnameFromMyactualcity) which needs to GO. Who the heck thought THAT would be a wise "auto naming" convention. And PLEASE forward a (* 2016/2017 *) link on how to change? Thanks so much.
You want your Forum user name changed right ? Do you have a name you'd like ? I can alert the hosts for you.

You cannot change the name yourself. We can bring your request to the attention of the hosts who should be able to make a change for you. I'm not sure what the process is behind the scenes, but if you can suggest an alternative and confirm it isn't already in use then we might cut down everybody's workload. Edit this link for https://discussions.apple.com/profile/Your+Preferred+Name where you replace space with + and if it isn't found it could be yours.

Do you have a preference you'd like ? Having a preference seems to make it easier on the hosts and speeds the process.
