I "upgraded to iOS 8.1 on my iPad 2. Now, when UI try to sync with my iTunes library, everything works until it gets to Step 6 of 6. It just churns for hours with the message, "Waiting for items to copy". Worse, I now seem to have lost most of my music off my iPad. Can anyone help??

Often you just have to wait it out. Usually there's a corrupt file in there that hangs things. I've had my iPod stall for over half an hour and then finish.
Thanks, but I let mine run all night last night, and it never finished. Any way to check for a corrupt file?
The only solution I've seen is a very tedious one. Remove all the music, then add it back one album at a time.
You can also try going through your iTunes, play each file and see if any error out.
