need help with the update for my iphone. Its not working and I think erase all my data

Im trying to sync my recent voice memo recorded from my iphone into itunes, but is not transfering the data. Have an Ipone 5s. The step i made: plug the apple cabe to the iphone and computer, Sync on my device (voice memo) also sync on the setting area i check sync music and voice memo. Still not syncronizing the latest voice memo recorded
