You have Yosemite installed over Mavericks (not unusual), but this has not renewed all your earlier software apps and tools.

Now there are incompatible softwares.

I assume you have at least one backup, better make more.

Would it be possible to do a "clean" instal of Yosemite?

That would mean format the startup drive, install Yosemite, then install all apps that you really need by hand and then copy the user data to the new system.

Completely removing the software that causes your issues is probably as much time consuming as making a fresh start.

When you do make a fresh start: do not install Numark-, Samsung-, iStatmenus-, Java-, OSXFuse-, Google- softwares. And I am not sure GoPro is compatible. Don't put any app in the LoginItems.

ifarisha,

Yes it may take some time... But you can do all (format and OS install) from the RecoveryPartition. That makes it a bit easier.

In the interim, first remove all entries in SystemPreferences->Users&Groups->LoginItems, with the minus sign underneath (this does not uninstall, just stops autmatic starting at startup),

then restart and uninstall all said.

Restart again after that.

Run then to see how the mac behaves. If the issue is gone (mostly), you can re-install a freshly downloaded app that you can not miss absolutely. You do probably not need any of them.

-- But as said a clean install as described will do better.

In roaringapps you can check compatibility of software, this site is not infallable, but still very useful.

Download software only from (trusted) developer sites or Appstore, never download from aggregate sites like Softonic, Download.com, Cnet, and others.

I edited the login Items.

This helped a lot. so i think i'll just edit and delete those troublesome items as i go along.

My job spares me hardly any time so i would do the clean install on my vacation.

I sometimes download form cnet. i'll stop that now. i always thought that website would be safe since it's so popular. guess i was wrong.

Thanks for all your assistance! 🙂

Kind Regards,

Faris!
