Q: Yosemite Trackpad
Morning all,
I've read all the other threads about Trackpad problems with Yosemite on this thread, to no avail, so I'm submitting the question again in the hope of any further suggestions.
I 'upgraded' to Yosemite and all sorts of things went wrong. SizeUp crashes all the time and doesn't know what half a monitor is; TextExpander locks up every time I use a snippet that moves the cursor; Stay doesn't remember configurations for some windows, but it does for others; and I randomly can't use the keyboard at all sometimes.
This, however, is not the point of this question. The point of this question is that, since the switch to Yosemite, my Trackpad has taken a mental leave of absence. In Mavericks, when I plugged my MacBook Pro in at my desk (where I have two Thunderbolt displays and a Kinesis Advantage keyboard that I connect by USB), I just needed to press the button on the Trackpad and it would connect within seconds. Initially, this also worked in Yosemite, although took a lot longer (30-60 seconds).
Then, it started trying to pair to my colleague's computer instead (she is, wisely, still on Mavericks). I had to re-pair the Trackpad manually each time I returned to my desk (sometimes - but not always - this would be after the computer went to sleep). This was annoying for both of us, but at least it worked. I reproduced this behaviour dozens of times - each time, despite the Trackpad being paired to my computer, it would try to pair with hers instead. She tried pairing and unpairing, to no avail. I switched to a different (brand new) Trackpad, which worked for a while, but which then started doing exactly the same thing. Now I have two of them on my desk, both of which try to pair with her computer, neither of which can even be seen in my computer. Yes, I've turned Bluetooth, the Trackpads, and my computer off and on again numerous times.
What's going on? I now can't pair either Trackpad to my computer, meaning I have to use the Trackpad on my MacBook Pro, which is a nuisance, as I usually have my Trackpad positioned in the middle of my keyboard.
Please help - thanks!
Chris
