Thanks Kurt,

Can I assume the same is true for 10.8, Mountain Lion & server? Also I found where Cnet has a link to a download of Mavericks, but they add a disclaimer it is a 3rd party site and they are not responsible for the content. Always worries me when downloading when I see that so I didn't go there. Would upgrade to Yosemite but with all the documented problems I see posted I am reluctant to recommend that path, as all current apps need to work for this client, and some are proprietary.

Mountain Lion can still be purchased directly from Apple. However, OS X Server was also updated to be compatible only with Yosemite. I was unable to locate a Mountain Lion server version.

As Allan noted, do not for a moment trust any third party download or media version (DVD, flash drive) of Mavericks. Like illegal torrent downloads, it is almost certain to contain malware, which will install along with the OS.

You're welcome.

I never had Mountain Lion Server myself (running Lion Server for our small office needs), but the engineers who reply to posts on Adobe's forums weren't at all impressed with ML Server, noting it had some nasty bugs which made it worse than its predecessor.

Can't comment at all on Yosemite Server (OS X Server). Our older iMac can't run anything newer than Lion and its Server version, so that's where it stays.

At this time, no. Apple pulled Mavericks from the App Store as soon as Yosemite was released.

It's a shame they pulled it from the store...I have a new Mac Mini that shipped with Mavericks, so no luck finding Mavericks under the Purchases area in the MAS for me.

I for one like to have the option of building and keeping a recovery disk/USB in the event the Recovery partition goes t*ts up and now I can't easily make one.

Bad form Apple considering Yosemite is receiving a fair amount of bad press at the moment. 😝
