Q: FCP XML not opening in davinci resolve 11

I'm trying to set up files for a color correction session and Davinci is not wanting to open.

I get a message "Davinci supports FCP X XML 1.3 and 1.4"... does anyone know how to figure this out?

What version FCPX and Resolve?
FCPX 10.1.3 and Resolve 11.1.1 should work.

I'm using FCP 10.0.8 and the newest version of Resolve.

I can't believe DaVinci Resolve 11 has not been updated to work with the new release of FCP 10.2.1! I really wanted to use color grading on a project that I'm working on for a client, and now I can't because the folks at DR are sloooow. Boooo to them.

I just test this problem. You need to export the XML file from FCP as a 1.4.FCPXML file... 1.5 won't work.

Error when importing version 1.5

Tested with:
FCP version 10.2.1
Resolve 11.1.4 from the App Store
Resolve 11.3.1 from BlackMagic web site.
OS 10.10.4

No problems using 1.4.FCPXML

You best bet is to download DaVinci Resolve from BlackMagic web site. The App store updates are slow or never to come.

DaVinci Resolve version 12 came out today. Did a test to see if version 12 will work with XML 1.5 (and 1.4) from FCP X and it does.
