I have an early 2009 macbook and just downloaded Yosemite and it is very slow.

I just ran the etrecheck and was wondering if somebody could help me figure out what is wrong.

I'm no expert but the red entries are where you should focus. You should look over on the Yosemite boards.

Here's a thread you might find useful.

Around Page 4-5-6 you will find info about your Hosts file. Good to read the full thread and post your question in there.

Add your EltreCheck there too.

I'm guessing, but I think you have upgraded to Yosemite from Snow Leopard and without checking the machine requirements for such a move. Your memory is insufficient. Up grade your memory to an absolute minimum of 4Gb, preferably 6Gb if the machine will take it. Then run Etre check again. If you buy the memory from Crucial, they will talk you through what you need.
