Nov 13, 2014 9:02 AM in response to wlewnkaby waynog,I also upgraded my 2010 27" iMac to Yosemite. An easy, faultless process. Afterwards I upped my RAM from 4gb to 12gb and it's now like a new machine!
The upgrades for Appeture and iPhoto were all free. Full marks for another great Apple upgrade experience

Nov 13, 2014 9:19 AM in response to waynogby PeterVL57,★HelpfulIt's refreshing that people with a positive experience share that with us on this forum. If you look at the ratings in the Mac App Store there must be a lots of them but they hardly take the effort to let us know here (and that's understandable). I'm one of those happy users of Yosemite as well (iMac early 2009).
@wlewnka if you had iMovies in your purchases in the Mac App Store before, if not normal you have to pay for it now. If that's the case contact Apple and have them correct this. If you haven't purchased it before, it's another matter.

Nov 13, 2014 9:17 AM in response to waynogby wlewnka,Oh, and forgot to mention this. Other than a seemingly longer startup process, all my apps seem FASTER to respond under Yosemite. Gotta say I'm happy I upgraded. But I do advise doing your research prior, just to make sure you have the proper hardware and no critical incompatible software!

Nov 13, 2014 9:25 AM in response to wlewnkaby waynog,Yes ! same - Yosemite seems much less demanding of RAM - so even before adding more RAM, my iMac was running better. In fact it had become so slow that i'd asked on these forums how to speed it up but nothing had worked. Now I have a Bloomberg TV window running, VLC , safari, tweet deck, mail TOR browser & Fuze and everything works at the same time
