Q: Podcasts grayed out when syncing older iPod

When I synced my iPod Classic with iTunes, I didn't have enough free space for my podcasts. I deleted music I didn't need to free up space, but now my podcasts are grayed out on iTunes when my iPod is plugged into my computer and have been deleted from my iPod. How may I restore them to the iPod?  Many thanks!

Can you describe in more detail where you see them "grayed out"...?  Select the iPod in iTunes, to see it's Summary settings screen.  If it's iTunes 12, in the sidebar, under Settings, click Podcasts.  To the right is the iPod's Podcasts settings screen.  Is there where you are looking?

Or, are you loading podcasts manually, and looking at the iTunes Podcasts library listing?

The former. When I plug in my iPod so it can sync with the computer, select the iPod in iTunes, and check the podcasts in the Summary setting, the list is grayed out on the iTunes screen on the computer.  Thank you.

Aha - I just saw a box to click to sync podcasts. This must have been deselected automatically when I ran out of space on my iPod. Thank you so much for your  earlier reply.
