I Just redeemed my gift card that is $15. I want to purchase some Life Points in Sims Free Play that is $2.99 but I'm told that I have an insufficient amount of money'!! Why is this happening? Can someone tell me how to fix this

What does the balance on your account show as e.g. did you owe iTunes money and/or have pre-orders or auto-renewing subscriptions that were due that took some of the money from your balance ? My balance shows, for example, at the bottom of the Featured tab in the App Store app on my iPad below my id - and have you tried tapping on your id there and logging out and then logged back in to see if you balance changes ?
