Genieo

I recently discovered adware on my computer called genieo and there doesn't appear to be an app that everyone keeps referring to on my computer to uninstall. i tried running Avast Mac Security but most of the files couldn't even be deleted. It is slowing my computer system down tremendously and i really want it removed. Someone help!!!
