Does anyone else use the Line6 TonePort UX1 (or UX2)??

Before I present my problem, here is my current setup

- 20in iMac G5 (purchased in Nov. '05 right before the Intels)
- a pair of KRK Rokit 5 Studio Monitors (w/ Mogami TRS-XLR cables)
- Line6 TonePort UX1 - for guitar tones (purchased it last Nov.)
- Garaband 2.0.2

Here is my problem

The Line6 has been installed, works perfect, and sounds amazing through the powered monitors. But when I power my iMac up, and (for example) I start iTunes to play some music (or any audio really) - no sound comes out of the monitors. This only happens when I start up.

What I've been doing is (while my Mac is on) unplugging the USB cable from the back of the Line6, and reconnecting it, then....POOF, full audio becomes present.

Any suggestions or tips would be appreciated.

Hey, I also have a toneport hooked up to my intel macbook but i hear no sound comming out of the speakers o my laptop when i play my guitar. Do i need headphones that go in the fornt or buy speakers that hook up in the back ofmy toneport

I've got a few things off the top of my head.

Is your line out muted? If the button is red, then it's muted. Just click on the button to unmute.

Is your monitor muted? If it's red, click it to unmute.

Also, the monitor in Garageband might be turned off. Double click the track to open it's "Track Info", click on the "Monitor" dropdown menu and select "On".

If you have both the Line6 monitor, and Garageband monitor turned on, you might hear a slight latent echo. I usually keep the Line6 monitor muted and keep Garageband's monitor on.

Also, go to Garageband's Preferences, and click on 'Audio/MIDI" and set your Output to "Built-in Audio" and set your Input to "TonePort UX1"
