iPhone camera roll stuttering/lagging after iOS 8.1 update.

Ever since i've updated my iPhone 5 to iOS 8.1 the camera roll has experienced slow performance to a point where when scrolling it will stutter or stop for a few seconds with thumbnails of images blurred out and then lag out and continue normal operations. I have attempted a clean restore but the issue keeps repeating. Any help would be appreciated.
