How to add more memory on MacBook Air

I installed OS X Yosemite about a week ago and now I only have 2 GB left on my computer, and it says that 1.98 GB are being used right now. I've been clearing it continuously but I can't keep continuing to do this. It's incredibly slow, keeps freezing, etc. If I were to go to the Apple store would they be able to add memory to my computer? How much would it cost, and how much memory would they be able to add? It's an 11 inch Mac Book Air made in mid 2011 if that helps. Also, I've been trying to search how to uninstall OS X Yosemite because it's eating away at my storage but it says you need a copy of the old operating system which I don't have, I'm not to experienced with computers either so I don't want to mess anything up, unless there is a easy/safe way to uninstall it.

Okay, so I have a 16 GB flashdrive. I'll put all my files on there right now. How would erase the internal main partition in Disk Utilities? And do I do that before I restart the computer? Also, I was looking in the app store for the Mac and they didn't have the Mavericks OS X, am I still going to be able to download it or can I only download OS X Yosemite if I do that?
