App Store disappeared from iphone 6 plus. How can I restore it?
I Am totally perplexed. Is it something I did?

The App Store cannot be deleted. Check Settings>General>Restrictions. Have you restricted the App Store? Check all the pages and all the folders. If all else fails, Settings>General>Reset>Reset Home Screen Layout. That will restore the arrangement of icons back to it's original state.
