Lens Correction?

I would really like to see perspective control. How many times do you have straight lines that need a little help!

Lens correction IS a must, as Aperture can't be a complete RAW workflow for me until I have this tool. Whit Lens Correction and the new improvements in 1.5 I only would need to tweak in Photoshop very few pictures.

I hope there is a solution for this soon...

No need for the port - Kevin Kratzke has already done a CI-based version of his Lensfix filters. I had great hopes when I saw the export API, a real shame there isn't one for corrections. 😟

Aperture now doesn´t have any kind of lens correction, so I´m asking myself how do you solve this problem? Do you work on every image which needs a distorsion correction with Photoshop and a plugin? Export alle pics and correct them with Bibble pro and import back into aperture? Any idea what to do?

What are you shooting that needs so much lens correction? I shoot commercial architecture and interiors, and even then, I don't need correction on every image. But when I need it need, it's a simple move to CS2, make the correction and save as a Version. I takes only a few more clicks than if the option was built into Aperture.

On the other hand, if it was included in Aperture, which at some point I'm sure it will be (either by plug-in or as a built-in feature), it sure would be nice.

I´ve got the Nikkor 18-200 VR lens. It´s a nice one but it needs postproduction e.g. Distortion correction.

I'll second (or third) this request for vignetting.

I'm a portrait shooter and I always want to burn down the corners a little. ACR vignetting did a great job of this.

Actually, I meant what type of subjects are you shooting? I don't have the 18-200, but I have the 18-70DX. There's a little distortion at the wide end, but I like the effect. As I said, I guess it depends on what your subject is and how you want to interpret it.

Every type of building or orthogonal objects are looking like have been project on a ball with this lens. It´s disproportionate, yes, but I see a big difference after correction for thing which are close-by. Correction of Distortion is not important for landscape or people but for Building.

The second and third thing what I like in Bibble pro is the Chromatic Aberration Correction and Vignetting.
For the perfect workflow this corrections have to been integreted into Apples Aperture.

I didn´t understand why it isn´t now avaible as a feature in version 1.5? Maybe the developers thought that there´s not more thing for 2.0? 😉

These sound like things that should and will possibly be added to Aperture in time. I'm sure there was a rush to get what they had done in time for Photokina so a few things were probably put on the back-burner. We should all send this in as a feature request so that Apple knows we want this.

I hope you´re right and all things like lens correction will be implanted in 1.6 and not in 2.0 in a year or so...

True.. but at least there are other ways to make the correction. In the meantime, Apeture 1.5 looks like it will do away with about 3 or 4 other programs I really don't need.
