Why does my Epson Workforce 645 printer not work with Yosimite os x?.. I have tried everythiing including deleting and then replacing the Epson software, replaced the cable between my IMac and the Epson printer. When printing nothing goes to the printer queue.

Your printer is supported by AirPrint and the Epson drivers. Which driver are you using? AddPrinter defaults to AirPrinter if the printer supports it.
If you want to use the Epson driver, you might also have to delete the /Library/Caches/Epson folder when removing the Epson drivers. After reinstalling the drivers (via Software Update or Epson Printer Drivers v2.19 for OS X), select the Epson driver in the Use menu in AddPrinter.

Thanks John. I have downloaded Epson Printer Drivers v2.19 for OS X. However when I went to reinstall the Epson printer software from the disc originally provided I got the message "This software is not supported by the os system" Is this true? How do I reinstall the software on my Epson disc? Thanks

I happen to also have an Epson Workforce 645. My printer has and continues to work perfectly with Yosemite.
I strongly suggest you completely forget about using the Epson disk. Apple's software works just fine with this printer.
You seem to have your printer connected by cable. I am using WiFi to communicate to the printer.
Thanks for your suggestion. I will not use the Epson software. However what is the apple software that I should download instead for yosimite os 2?
As an aside is there anything special I need to do to use the wireless system the Epson printer has?

Get Apple's Epson software as John Blanchard1 suggests above ... either software update or the link he provided.
To use the wireless system, you just need to follow Epson's directions to make sure your printer is on the same WiFi network as your iMac.

Did “everything” include deleting the printer from the Print & Scan sys pref, then re-adding?
Did “everything” also include Resetting the Printing System?

I did delete the printer from the Print and Scan but when I pressed the + key to add the Epson it did not recognize any printer software (I had deleted all software but had inserted the Epson printer disc. Again the message was something to the effect of "does not recognized operating system.
I agee with a previous commentator that I should not use this Epson disc software and that I now seem to need Apples printer software for Epson 645. Goggling "Apple software for Epson Workforce 645 printer using Yosimite os 2" I ran into problems trying to find such software. Seems all I got was "updates" which I have already installed. Any suggestions ?
Any help you can provide to "reset the printing system" would also be helpful.
