mid 2014 rMBP with ui lag

Problem description:

my macbook is experiencing ui lag, slow animation when switching between space and in mission control. I just got this brand new laptop two months ago, really disappointed. can some please help me ?

I upgraded to yosemite from mavericks and then i noticed if i use my mac for more than 5 hours, it will get slow, sluggish animation especially when using mission control and switching between space. If I shut down my mac and restart, things will get really smooth like it's brand new but after a few hours the lag will come back.


I did a clean install 5 days ago, but i did sth stupid and did a clean install again. At first i thought it work, cause everything is so smooth, but yesterday things got sluggish and it drove me crazy. I also try reset PRAM and i feel like it's the restart make things better not the actual PRAM reset.


as for the chat system, do you mean the software QQ? I had it in mavericks, and i don't know if its yosemite compatible. On its website it says it's for 10.7 and later. I don't think that is the main problem cause I've seen people running qq on their macbook air and the system was pretty smooth.

Yes, I meant QQ: I have researched their site and some more but nowhere I could find whether it is Yosemite proof. This is my first guess for the culprit.

One way is (if you can miss it for a day or two) to uninstall it (with the uninstaller 👿 ) and then see whether the system does behave better. You can always reinstall it when it s not the cause of the issues.

With Flux you mean the programmers tool, or perhaps the screen adapter for evenings F.Lux (which you shouldn't use)?

Chrome is not my preference: uninstall it for a day or two also. (If you want another browser than Safari, use Firefox or Opera: fast and safe).

Is Eclipse Yosemite compatible??
