Launchpad resets itself after update to Yosemite

Hi all,

Since I updated to Yosemite (from Mountain Lion), I've had a number of issues; the strangest of all is that Launchpad resets each time I restart the machine (that is, every time I turn off the Mac it forgets the way I ordered the apps) .

Following an advice found on this forum, I tried to delete Launchpad preferences file from the Library, but it didn't help.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks for your help

I had the same problem. I don't know what the cause of it was but this is how to fix it:

1) Use the Finder -> Go -> Go To Folder...

2) Go to /User/<User Name>/Library/Application Support/Dock

3) Delete the contents of this folder.

4) Adjust one thing in your Launchpad as test.

5) Reboot computer. If your Launchpad change has saved, great! If not reboot make a single change and reboot again.

As a Mac and a Windows user, there is no logical reason why I had to reboot twice, but why the Launchpad would forget it's settings isn't very logical either. Hope this helps you.
