Pages 8.0 and newest Pages compatible

Hi Guys I need some help...

I got two Macs one 2007 IMac and one new Macbook pro Retina 13".

I usually use the Imac for Work (Designs, Business etc) and my Macbook pro only for Business to take with me so I can access my files in the Dropbox.

Now the problem starts.....

Of course the new MBP has the newest Pages/Numbers etc and my IMac still the Pages 8.0 for example.

Now I found out that the files can not be read from and to the Pages and I have to have it all double 😠

Now my question is as I got the newest Iwork on the MBP is there any possibility to transfer or download the newest pages on my Imac?

And do I have to adjust then all my other files created in 8.0? That would be a pain.....

Thought about replacing my Imac with a newer Imac but it works fab so why should I...

Thanks guys and any advice very much appreciated!

Thanks

Ir is Pages '08 as in 2008.

Pages '08 can export to .doc files which Pages 5.5.1 can open.

You can install iWork '08 on Yosemite, just make sure to upgrade it to Pages '08 v3.03.

Pages 5.1.1 is a cut down version so you might want to stick with Pages '08 or buy iWork '09 from Amazon cheaply and use that instead, as Pages 5.1.1 can open Pages '09 files. Or simply move on and forget about Pages all together, LibreOffice is free and much more durable and compatible.

Thanks Peter,

yeah I found that Pages 5.1.1 on my Macbook pro is not as varied as the Pages 8 really .

I did that like save it in doc which is unfortunately a total nightmare on Pages as it - if you did a design - messes it all up .....

I used Libre office a while but i didnt find it so good for designs?!

So Pages 5.1.1. is a cut down version of 9 so you buy 9?
Wow Apple gets worse and worse and greedy since SJ is gone ;-(
