Battery Drain

Just a general question about the battery life on these iPods. I know they seem to drain pretty quickly, but does anyone know if the battery still gets drained even if it's connected to the wall charger or a car charger?

if its pluged into a car or wall charger it should be charging. if your ipod is off and pluged into a wall or car charger it will not drain the battery.

I heard that charging the battery on a "car battery charger" significantly shortens the life of the battey. Apparently, this has to do with the car using a similar voltage but a completely different current.

Is this true?
I want to buy an I trip with car charger, but I am unsure what to do. If it is going to drain my battery I think I'll just buy the I-trip without battery charger (which is going to feed from the ipod anyways).

What to do?? which option will keep my battery alive for a longer period of time??
