Q: sound

Just loaded Win 8.1 underbootcamp using latest bootcamp software.    There is sound when booting to Yosemite and with Win 8.1 with Parallels.

However,  If I boot straight to windows with bootcamp I get no sounds.    Device Manager shows two speaker outputs and shows levels of volume on

the indicator when I test sounds but no sound out of the speakers or the headset jack on the front.    Using a Mac Pro 5.1 with Yosemite.

Might there be a driver for bootcamp that windows needs as opposed to the generic.

    Please check the Device Manager for any missing devices or any yellow triangles with exclamation marks.

    Do you see any of these devices or similar under W8.1?

    Sound shows two (High Definition Audio Device ) both working properly.  I tried to uninstall but both show up when rebooted.
    Audio outputs show two Speakers (High Definition Audio Device ) both working properly.  I thought that there might be special audio   drivers for the Mac Pro when booting with Windows but have no luck finding them if there are.

    Can you post the output of About This Mac -> System Report -> Audio from the OS X side?

    Do you want to use Grab and cut a part of the screen and post it as an image? The formatting from the profiler causes the JiveServer some issues.

    Snip of Sound on Device Manager.PNG

    Sorry to be so long but I had to go off island for some business without access to my desktop.

    I think this is the Device Manager info you asked for.   I looked in other places for info and only saw one post that suggested a driver but that isn't the

    sound device that I have.   I am looking to find what device actually exists in this particular machine.

    Can you look on the OS X side and check for Manufacturer/Model of the sound/HDA device? It is more than likely a Cirrus Logic controller/device.

    I got my Christmas present.    One site suggested running the latest Realtek Audio driver software.   It worked and I now have sound.

    Mahalo for spending your time on my problem, I appreciate it;

    You did teach me about Grab it and the snipping tool  so you made me a little smarter.
