Q: vanishing websites in iWeb

I have been using iWeb for years and today when I launched the program to make a change to one of my sites there were no sites listed in the left site selection menu.

Does anyone recognize this issue and is there a way to get the sites back.

Thanks

iMac (21.5-inch Mid 2010), Mac OS X (10.6.8)

Have you upgraded your system since you last opened iWeb?  What system are you currently running?  What version of iWeb are you using?

Look in your Home/Library/Applications Support folder for an iWeb folder.  There should be a Domain.site file in there.  What size is it?

It is a mystery.  I haven't made any changes to my OS for years.  I'm running OS10.6.8 and the iWeb version is 3.0.4

i don't have an iWeb folder in the application support folder.

    thanks for trying to help

Yes you do have an iWeb folder in your Application Support folder, but this WILL NOT be in your System Library.  For this file, you will need to look in your User Library/Application Support/iWeb and it is this folder that you will find your iWeb folder in with your domain.sites files.

If you are running Snow Leopard still, then you should have no problems with iWeb.

TThanks, ethmoid.  I'll search for this.  Assuming I find it how do I get the file into the software So I can work on it.

    HI Ethmoid,

i found the folder but it contains only the site that I started rebuilding yesterday after I discovered the missing sites.

    the mystery deepens

    Hello again,

I Went searching through my backup hard drive and found a file in the location you suggested, double clicked and iWeb opened with all my sites in the selection menu.

WHy why or how this occurred or where the file went to on my computer hard drive is still a mystery, but now I don't have to spend hours rebuilding.

thanks so much for pointing me in the right direction.
