Q: coreaudiod callservicesd identityservicesd com.apple.geod not responding

OK so I have been having problems with my mac running super super slow lately. I researched some trouble shooting ideas and went into my activity monitor as instructed. Found coreaudiod not responding along with identityservicesd. I stopped these applications and things seemed to work smoothly. A few weeks later it happened again and when I went to the activity monitor there was another application not responding and that was com.apple.geod. I stopped these and again seems like everything is ok. That was last week. Today my computer running super super super slow. I went into activity monitor to find coreaudiod identityservicesd com.apple.geod callservicesd all not responding. I stopped them all but there seemed to be a little better processing speed but not too much difference. I ended up rebooting which seems to have helped tremendously.

However this issue keeps happening and it's happening more frequently. Although rebooting the system seems to help, having to shut down everything that I am working on is seriously inconvenient. And its not that I have numerous programs open, today I had the internet and word open, applying for jobs and I was so frustrated. As I would stop the programs they would go right back to not responding which forced me to reboot.

I am so used to fast paced working that this is literally driving me  bananas. I need to find a way to stop this from happening. I would like a direct fix if anyone knows. I see nothing on youtube and no direct fix on here anywhere. But I do see that these issues have been happening since 2006. I am confused as to why these issues have not been dealt with. I know I am tired of seeing this rainbow wheel. I am running Yosemite, which honestly, seems to be causing me more problems then I would care to discuss

If anyone has a solution please fill me in. I would need detailed instructions I am not that computer savvy.

Thank you

iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10)

I am having the same problem. If I quit in Activity Monitor they restart themselves. They don't seem to take much memory but my system is sluggish to the point where I wish I had a different computer.

Thank you for the suggestion.  I have tried some of the other suggestions in this discussion and now my mac seems to be running fine though the memory usage is (to me) excessive; I bounce between having less than a gig of memory available (sometimes down to 40 MB up to a bit over 3 Gig, and that's with 8 gig of memory installed and not running much). Coreaudiod, callservicesd, and identityservicesd are still not responding; would etrescheck printout help with how to delete these programs?

Again, Thank you for taking the time to help me.... Etrescheck report is below.

OK so I took it upon myself to do some research because I was not getting the response I required quick enough. I personally have protools on my computer. So I followed the instructions on going to the library and updating the plug ins.

    go to your computer

    go to library

    go to audio

    go to plug-ins

    go to HAL

see what kind of Plug-In you have, mine was DigiDesign

    remove plug-in and reinstall

This stopped my issue with the coreaudiod, callservicesd, & identityservicesd. I have not seen these stop responding in the past 3 days.

However I am still having some issues with slow response going between functions on my computer. Which I do not understand because I have 45GB open on my hard drive. But it is no where near as bad as it was before. Over the next week or so I will be removing a lot of pictures, video and music onto external hard drives. Cleaning my desktop, and getting rid of programs I don't use.

I hope this helps because it was really frustrating for me.

    I have several plug in folders in HAL.  AirPlay.driver, AppleAVAudio.driver, BluetoothAudioPlugin.driver, Hear.plugin, iSightAudio.driver.

All except Hear.plugin have sub-folders.  How do I know which to remove?  How do I replace it when it's removed?

    Thanks

Remove the hear plug in. Look for that plug in through Google. Find safest way to download.

Thanks for the suggestion.  I looked but could not find a Hear plug-in.  There is a Hear application but I don't think that is what you meant.  So far the computer is working ok so I don't want to remove something without knowing I have a replacement.; I wouldn't know of the problems with coreaudiod etc. if it weren't for activity monitor now that the computer isn't routinely stalling.

Www.update.com/app/mac/27310/hear there is also safari and java plug in. If you have hear on your computer already just save a copy of it on junk drive so you can reinstall
