Q: Auto response to text messages while driving?

All the other phones can do this. How do I set it up on an iPhone? I am sure it is something simple I am just over looking. AT&T has a safe driving app that has all sorts of handy features, but I know we had to wait for apple to build it in since they won't let apps access that functionality of the phone. I thought it was part of the last upgrade, but I can't find it.

This is not a feature of the iPhone. If you don't answer, people will probably figure out you are busy doing something else.

Wow, still no attempt to make driving any safer? That is hard to believe, its been years since all the other phones got those features. At this rate we will all be riding in google self driving cars long before Apple bothers to do anything and then we really won't need the features anyway. I may have to seriously consider another phone. I have been using Apple products since the 80's, but lately Apple has been so disappointing.

How is an auto-reponse safer than just not responding? You are not required to answer every text or phone call immediately (or at all for that matter).

Make the suggestion to Apple. Nothing we can do about it.
