3 (Hi3G Denmark ApS) Carrier unlocked - New sim from Telenor not working.

To whom it may concern at Apple.

I live en Denmark and I have an iPhone 4, 32GB, black. I have been using 3 (Hi3G Denmark ApS) as my main carrier for many years and decided to change carrier to Telenor, as they had a better family package offer.

3 out of 4 iphones have accepted the new sim-card from Telenor however one iPhone (the above mentioned) does not seem to accept the new sim. When I try to insert the new sim and synchronise it with iTunes - iTunes gives me the following message:

"The SIM card that you currently installed in this iPhone is from a carrier that is not supported under the activation policy that is currently assigned by the activation server. This is not a hardware issue with the iPhone. Please insert another SIM card from a supported carrier or request that this iPhone be unlocked by your carrier. Please contact Apple for more information."

I have spoken with Telenor and have tried every method from reset to restore. Finally we came to the conclusion that the iPhone might be carrier locked. I have today, spoken with 3 and correctly assumed, it was carrier locked. 3 has now unlocked my iPhone and requested me to sync with iTunes. It should automatically accept the new sim from Telenor. But without luck. I have now tried to reset network on the iPhone and restored my iPhone twice from iTunes, without luck.

Can someone please help me/explain to me what i'm doing wrong and why the new sim card from Telenor is not being accepted? When I insert the sim from 3, I can continue with the configuration menu but when i restore and use the sim from Telenor, it gives me the above message on iTunes.

I hope to hear from you guys soon.

Hello Forum

3 (Hi3G) came to the conclusion. The reason iPhone was unable to be carrier unlocked is because we some how had damaged the iPhone by fidling with its chipset with some software editor. Wow, great service. I'm never going back to 3 again, regardless country!

We had no choice but to purchase a new phone. An iPhone 5C, 8GB in white which my daughter is extremely happy for. But we are experiencing one minor issue.

When the headset is inserted into the jack, sound comes out both from headphones and the iPhone. We have updated to latest software and the issue continues. I want to know how i can fix this so it only gives sound from headphones when they are inserted and not from the headset and phone simultaneously.

Thanks in advance

Regards,

Faraz
