3 (Hi3G Denmark ApS) Carrier unlocked - New sim from Telenor not working.
To whom it may concern at Apple.
I live en Denmark and I have an iPhone 4, 32GB, black. I have been using 3 (Hi3G Denmark ApS) as my main carrier for many years and decided to change carrier to Telenor, as they had a better family package offer.
3 out of 4 iphones have accepted the new sim-card from Telenor however one iPhone (the above mentioned) does not seem to accept the new sim. When I try to insert the new sim and synchronise it with iTunes - iTunes gives me the following message:
"The SIM card that you currently installed in this iPhone is from a carrier that is not supported under the activation policy that is currently assigned by the activation server. This is not a hardware issue with the iPhone. Please insert another SIM card from a supported carrier or request that this iPhone be unlocked by your carrier. Please contact Apple for more information."
I have spoken with Telenor and have tried every method from reset to restore. Finally we came to the conclusion that the iPhone might be carrier locked. I have today, spoken with 3 and correctly assumed, it was carrier locked. 3 has now unlocked my iPhone and requested me to sync with iTunes. It should automatically accept the new sim from Telenor. But without luck. I have now tried to reset network on the iPhone and restored my iPhone twice from iTunes, without luck.
Can someone please help me/explain to me what i'm doing wrong and why the new sim card from Telenor is not being accepted? When I insert the sim from 3, I can continue with the configuration menu but when i restore and use the sim from Telenor, it gives me the above message on iTunes.
I hope to hear from you guys soon.
Best Regards
