I have a Macbook and foolishly, sometime ago, accidentally deleted a launch command (I think). I can no longer update any firmware or software and none of my usb drivers work. Is there a way I can reinstate the command? Or should I take it to someone who knows what they are doing?

Thank you so much for the response. Can I just check, if I this, will it wipe anything from my laptop?
Do not erase anything, just reinstall OS X. That said its never a good idea to proceed without a current backup just in case something goes wrong.

It shouldn't, but if it does (and without a backup) you are stuck.

Thats the problem. I can't back up because nothing works that I could back up to. Thank you for your help but I might take it in and save myself the stress of accidentally wiping it. Thanks again.
