8.1.1 update
Why does the iPhone update take 8-9 hours to make just some simple changes?
iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10)
It shouldn't, unless you have a problem with your internet connection. Have you checked your connection speed?

AT&T speed test = 5.13 mbps DSL green wire from wall filter to AT&T 2701 router and yellow wire to my early 2008 iMac 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo & 2 GB 800 MHz DDR2 SDRAM. I think another 2gb might help speed things up. When downloading I leave the computer idle and it goes to sleep after about 10 minutes. The update to Yosemite 10.10.1 was about 1 hour update. thanks for the reply.
Well, that is not the fastest that I've seen, but it should take care of it. I know mine is not that long, but then I am using Xfinity/Comcast cable with a download of 30Mbps.
