How get totally blank (black) screen saver?

With OS X Mavericks, how can one get a totally blank, i.e., black, screen saver.

I do not want anything that is a timer or puts the computer to sleep! Nor do I want to use the usual shortcut key combination to dim the screen. I want an actual screen saver that I can use just like the ones shipped with the OS.

I tried, e.g, http://superuser.com/questions/328668/where-can-i-get-a-black-screen-screensaver -for-os-x-lion

which provides a .qtz file; but this does not work for Mavericks, which expects a picture.

iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9), 3.4GHz Corei7, 16GB, SSD + 2T HD

Never mind, I figured it out. I just:

  1. Created a totally black .jpg . Actually, I opened one of the ,jpg files from /Library/Screen Savers so as to get an image of the correct size, cleared that image, used paint bucket to make it completely black, and exported the result as black.jpg.
  2. Put black.jpg into a folder inside /Library/Screen Savers.
  3. In the System Preferences > Desktop & Screen Saver window, Screen Saver pane, clicked the Source selection gizmo, in the pop-up window selected Choose folder, and selected the folder containing black.jpg, Since that was the only image in the folder, no further choosing was needed.
