Recently, I think with the iOS 8 upgrade, I'm having problems sending Yahoo! mail from the mail app. I get an message that says there is an error sending from the apple.smtp.mail.yahoo.com server. I have problems when I set it up with other yahoo mail servers too. I can set my yahoo mail up as an IMAP account and it will send emails from the device, but it's less than ideal because it doesn't sync up with my Yahoo! mail account.

If you are having issues with getting email on your iPhone, then check out the article below for general troubleshooting to get it sorted out. Also keep in mind that Yahoo Mail does have an app as well if you are looking for another alternative and making sure that it is synced up with your other mail clients.

I am not computer savy but this is what I did and it worked.
Open your email in mac. Under preferences, accounts, yahoo, choose outgoing mail server. I changed the port from 465 to 587 and yahoo went from offline to working! Hope it helps.
