I get an error message installing IOS 8.1.1.

What sort of error? What does it say?

Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the reset.

Also, check you available storage on the device and see what you have. Past experience is that you should get a specific message if that is the problem, but worth checking.

IIf you receive this message while trying to update via a Wi-Fi connection try to update while connected to your computer running itunes. Be sure to turn off any virus protection software on your computer while doing the update. You can turn that back on after the update has completed.

I also getting the same error message. Did you ever get it to update?

Got serious problem wont update it stays of recover mode and when i try to update or restore it says error 29

i keep on getting error 29 and iv done everything

iTunes did work and I'm on 8.1.1 now, but the new update causes the browser to hang every time I try to load yahoo email or most web pages. My hi speed wifi works just fine on other devices.
