Yosemite Bluetooth issue with Apple Wireless Keyboard

My Late 2014 Mac mini running Yosemite does not properly recognize my Apple Wireless Keyboard (Model A1016). Upon waking, the first keystroke initiates a random string of characters in my Password field. The 10.10.1 update has not changed this. My Apple USB keyboard works without issue. Anyone else?

I have a different prolem - my Apple Wireless Keyboard will not connect. This started after the latest update installation. After "removing" the device (in Bluetooth Preferences), it will find the keyboard, but will not pair with it.

Any suggestions, anyone???
