I have the same problem, but the answer from Rudegar didn't solve the problem.

I bought a Panasonic TX-47ASW654 and my Apple TV does not work with it. I only get a black screen from it when I connect the Apple TV with it. I also tried it with different TV's. The Apple TV did work with an LG TV (Type 49 UB 820V), but did not work with any of the Panasonic TV's I tried to connect to (I tried it with a Panasonic TX47-ASW754, a TX47-ASW654 and a TX47-ASM655).

    Any ideas?

Hi, similar problem here. I did the most recent Apple TV update, and now I am experiencing compatibility issues with my Panasonic Viera plasma TV (TH-42PD25). When the update was completed and the ATV restarted, my screen was cropped (see photo). I did the "press and hold Menu and Up button" to find a resolution that fit, and the only one I get is 480p. When I try to select 720i or 1080p manually, I get a bad image--with a distorted Apple logo streaming horizontally right to left. It's a shame my resolution is only 480p on an HDTV. Didn't have this problem before the recent Apple TV update. Does the latest Apple TV update have a problem determining my TV's resolution capability? Anyone have similar problems or know of any fixes?

Did you manage to sort this out? I also have a Panasonic Viera and my Apple TV 3 won't work on it. My Apple TV 2 works fine on the Panasonic and the Apple TV 3 works on my LG tv fine in the spare room.

I've noticed a lot of issues with the Panasonic's and Apple TV's. Whats the issue and how can it be resolved?

    Thanks
