Upgrade

How do I upgrade from Panther to Tiger? Do I have to buy it from the Online store? How do I use a bootable USB if possible to do this?

PowerMac, Mac OS X (10.3.x)

Mac OS X Tiger was released in 2005, has long since been continued, and thus no longer available in the Apple Online Store. Buy it from somewhere else like eBay or Amazon.

You will have to find a retail installer package at eBay or Amazon.com. Apple now longer sells them. They only come on DVDs.

PowerMacs will generally not boot any version of Mac OS X via USB. This discussion talks about the mixed success of the matter:
