    Did the drive completely fail?  Does it work, mechanically, or is it completely dead?  If it is completely failed mechanically you will have to find a data recovery specialist and see if they can get the information off the drive.

    I did a bad job, there is a new 1TB drive installed, apple supplied,  there is a back up drive with all info, it is 2TB drive Not an apple Time machine Prob. is getting the back up on to the new drive 1TB drive I have mad a mess of it and have become completely snowed. I am trying to ph apple support, thanks
