Gift option missing in iTunes store on macbook running yosemite 10.10.1
MacBook, OS X Yosemite (10.10), updated today to 10.10.1
What are you trying to gift ? Does the option show on any type of item ?
I'm getting the gifting option on apps, music (albums and tracks), TV (episodes and series), films - I'm also running 10.10.1 and the current version of iTunes
Movies: no gift option for any of the half dozen I tried
TV: season pass - no gift option
season 1 (Madam Secretary) - gift option
episodes (all other)- gift option
season pass other series- no gift option
Music: album and track - gift option
Apps: gift option
You can't gift season passes - you should be able to gift completed series, but not series passes.
For films I can gift film purchases, but not pre-orders or rentals.
Film - for instance, The Good The Bad & The Ugly - i see an option to buy (HD or SD) and an option to rent. If I click on the side arrow on the "Buy" button there is no gift option. Further down the screen on the same side there are two other of Eastwood's old movies offered as "Also Available". When I click on the arrow beside their "Buy" button I do get a gift option.
What country are you in ? Here in the UK for The Good, The Bad & The Ugly I get the gift option :

I'm not seeing the gift option on any films in the Australian store. Have you gifted films in the past - I can't see anything that says that films can't be gifted in Australia.
yes i have gifted films in the past - last Christmas.
i guess you've gone nigh nighs now but thought you'd be interested to know that the gift option is available for the same movie when accessing the iTunes store on both my iPad and iPhone.
It looks like there's a bug with computers iTunes that's causing it not to show. You could either wait and see if it gets fixes, or you could try contacting iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page
Yes looks like. I rang support after the online chat person couldn't help. Phone support said that it appears to be a bug and may be fixed in the next update. They suggested I leave a note on the feedback page as well - which I did. Thanks for responding.
