Nov 21, 2014 4:26 PM in response to OldiBookNewTricksby bgc12,As of having worked on iBooks in the past the majority of the batteries are the same for the G3 model. It would be optimal to order the same model battery as the colour would match and it would be a for sure working battery. The best thing to do to get a replacement battery for a machine as old as that is to buy one used off of an auction website such as eBay or try and find a good replacement on Amazon.

Nov 21, 2014 10:19 PM in response to OldiBookNewTricksby K Shaffer,Some items come up in a search for Mac parts UK; whether or not they have
an exact part match for any vintage product has not been searched...
Most that I have looked into, show any battery "out of stock" &/or listed "used."
A good electronics shop with an understanding of how these batteries are wired
in their case (and any controller chip circuitry) should be able to install new cells
inside the case; however opening these may present a problem if done forcefully.

In the US, wegenermedia.com, powerbookmedic.com, & others may know of stock.
So far, I'd struck out searching; could be one may need to contact long standing
Apple specialists & those who repair vintage models, to get refurbished batteries.
Perhaps there is a message board or User Group site where one could try & contact
Apple users; of those some may know of a source, or an individual capable of repair
since these battery units have been refurbished before with new rechargeable cells.
Sorry to not be of exact help in this matter.
Good luck & happy computing!
