Why am I not allowed to post?
i Wrote a long question on this forum then when I wanted to post it I got a message that I wasn't allowed to post. Why not?

Yes, the activity stream is OK for current stuff, not so useful if you are trying to create a link to a specific post in a thread from weeks or months back.
While on the topic of linking to specific posts, if a post is also the answer to a problem and shown on the first page of a thread then because both copies of the post have the #<MessageNo> bookmark anchor embedded within them the browser will often scroll to some random position between the two. 😮

I have given up on reasonable expectation of proper / consistent jumpTo behavior - I pretty much would remain annoyed all the time while composing if I let it get to me.
EXAMPLE
compose pane comfortably visible > QUOTE tool = insertQuote > page redraws with the END of the quoted text as thTOP of the visible portion of the page = requires scrollBar/scrollArrow to recenter !! arrgghh. I don't understand the implementation of 'Simple' editor and 'Advanced' editor... why not give me all the tools right off the bat?

With a bit of peeking at the HTML you can identify the message number and create the right URL.
So how did you do this?
Robert
I use Chrome's inspect element tool. You right-click on the area you are interested in, click Inspect Element and a split window is created with the code revealed. As you move your mouse around the page the inspector highlights the active block. The anchor connected to your post is
<a name="27235180"></a>
so your post is

ooops! you then need to find the post you want and all that
easiest now is just hover over any reply to your post to which you want to get the link
i got a little confused about context - what I describe is how to inject your ID # into tt2's SEARCH link in an earlier thread (that now is on another page) = Re: Why am I not allowed to post? -- https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6681835?answerId=27230828022#27230828022

That was some launch, huh ?

If you have never been to NASA in Houston, I highly recommend it. Standing next to the mothballed launch vehicles becomes an indelible memory - Orion was a BIG Deal - ÇÇÇ
Huge. I was in gradeschool during the first manned flights and am still hoping to live long enough to see a man on Mars.
we were born about 20 years too early, I fear... I would sign up to MOVE to Mars or the Moon. I must settle for Heinlein (not too bad, I guess - I identify with Lazarus Long) - space is basically destined to become the Wild West in 100 years. Barsoom 😎
To keep it Apple TECHNICAL...
On Mars now =
Curiosity rover that touched down on Mars in 2012 is powered by the same processor family used in Apple's 1997 PowerBook G3 laptop.
For its nuclear-powered life-hunting tank, NASA chose a 200MHz PowerPC 750 CPU specifically hardened to withstand radiation and space flight.

I think this has finally ticked me over with Apple. My camera connection kit doesn't work (USB device is not supported. (Same error for 5 different SD cards.)), and when I go to post the question on the iPad community, I can't create or update my post. Sweet.
Why am I not allowed to post?
