I received an email saying I made a transaction but I haven't.. Scam?

Just happened to me. I followed the link and gave all of my information. You have to contact your Social Security Department and let them know what happened so they can watch your card number for use. You also have to change your checking account! I feel like such an idiot!

It's a phishing attempt to try and get your account and payment details, the links in what you've included are not Apple sites.

You could forward the email to Apple : reportphishing@apple.com

And then delete the email.

Emails from Apple will tend to be personalised (not 'dear customer', 'hello' etc) and be written in proper grammatical language, and they don't send out purchase cancellation/refund emails.

Yes, it's a scam. Same answer as I gave above. Right click on the link they tell you to go to towards the bottom. Copy the link and paste it into TextEdit. You'll see the actual URL is nothing like the one shown. It goes nowhere that has anything to do with apple.com.

I've asked the hosts to remove your Apple ID/email address from your post. It is not safe and a bad idea to show that in an open forum online. Remember to remove/cover such information if you wish to publish a screenshot.

Whatever that message is, it's not from PayPal. You either have the necessary funds in your PayPal account to cover a purchase, or you don't. If not, the transaction will never go through. So any email that says you "owe money" to PayPal is a lie.

Nothing is ever owed directly to PayPal, other than the percentage they take out of the seller's sale price. And even that can't happen unless the buyer had the available funds to purchase an item in the first place.

If in doubt, call PayPal, or check your PayPal account online. I very much doubt it's anything but a scam email.

If you right click on either link and choose "Copy link", then paste it in to TextEdit to see where it goes, you'll see it goes nowhere even remotely related to Apple.

You'd have to contact Apple about your App Store account. Everyone in this topic is just another user, such as yourself. Since we are not Apple employees, we can't do anything.
