Why does Zoom It cause Computer slow down

My Zoom It 1.2.2 on Mac OS 10.8.5 has gone mad, while still working it affects the whole computer by slowing it down and makes opening files by clicking on them spotty.

I isolated the problem by checking on the console which has Zoom It comment on thousands of its lines. So I quit Zoom It and temporarily removed it from the computer. Result: everything works normal now.

Then I reinstalled Zoom It from my back-up drive, and it worked for a few hours, but now I am back where i was before: it causes the same problem as described above.

I have Norton Antivirus and checked the entire computer for Malware/Viruses - but nothing was found.

The original Zoom It was bought at the Apple Store when shortly after I installed OS 10.8.5

What would cause the problem and how can I correct it?
