GPU Heat iMac 5k 105degrees C

Hey guys I got the new retina iMac 5k. I'm loving it except it seems to have a high GPU temperature. It runs at 105 degrees celsius consistently when running games in OS X Yosemite and Windows 8.1 I've ran two different temperature apps for windows, and two different temperatures apps for Mac OS X. The results are consistent.

I've ran a diagnostic (holding the D key) at the startup. I've spoken to a specialist on the phone, and brought the iMac to the apple store. None of them had anything useful to say except that the computer is too new and they don't know much about it (yeah). They also ran a diagnostic, positive results (everything is ok).

So does the computer run hot as by design? Is this damaging the camera? 105 celsius is a temperature that can boil water. I would love a statement from apple in regards to this....

Also the SSD in windows bootcamp (probably in OS X as well) runs HOT 60-70 degrees Celsius.

So what's going on apple? I noticed a few other people have this issue as well.

OK post their reply here please I would like to know the official response to a computer that runs the GPU AND CPU at 100C for long periods....

I often notice both my GPU AND CPU are near 100C and fan is 2700 when doing any encoding, playing games etc... when it just doing web stuff it sits around 60C. sometimes I have to encode video and for hours its at 100c, id love to know what this sort of heat is going to do to internal components over a few years.

You'll have to contact applecare. Have screenshots of your temperature and emphasize that this CELSIUS not fahrenheit. The first specialist I spoke told me to goto the apple store. At the genius bar couldn't decipher the difference or the importance of an heat issue. Once I contacted them again, they took it to the next level.

So...

You will have to contact them. That's the only option. Make a phone call appoint through applecare.

You are NOT stuck with a lemon, If this is a new iMac, you have one free year of AppleCare to get this issue resolved for free.

You can call and make an appointment with your local Apple store to bring your Mac in for diagnosis and repair.

If you live 50 miles of an Apple Store, you can opt to have an Apple tech come to where you live.

I would advise purchasing and registering with Apple for extended AppleCare coverage that will cover your Mac for another two years.

Apple builds millions of computing devices, every now and again there maybe a few that go thru the assembly line with a missed defect or two.

Not too much different than an automobile.

And I agree with the Steve Jobs comment. But he's not here, and in 2011 I got a macbook pro with logic board issues under his "reign". Unfortunately this happens. Lets see how it gets resolved. Beyond the heating issue, this computer is a beast, and is the next best thing to a Mac Pro. Stay positive. My major annoyance is going to the applestore and watching the genius bar guy hard restart my computer more than 20 times in 2 hours just to run a diagnostic (he didn't know how or maybe the software was unpredictable like he kept on saying).
