Safari is filling my system log

Safari 8, OS 10.10.1 on a Retina MBP, with all Safari extensions disabled.

My system log is filled with literally thousands of nsurlstoraged errors like the ones below. The problem exists in system log files going back a week, (i.e., 3 days before I updated to 10.10.1). I have reset Safari (Clear History and website data), rebooted, etc, and the problem persists.

Watching the system log in real time, via tail, shows that a burst of these nsurlstoraged errors appear every time I visit a new page in Safari. The errors stop after a second or so, until I visit a new page.

I have checked for bogus launch daemons, launch agents, etc, in /Library and ~/Library, and there are no unexpected files present there. Running out of ideas.

Thought of one more thing to try. I logged out of my user account and logged in to the admin account. The nsurlstoraged errors to not appear while I am using Safari from the admin account.

Restart the computer in safe mode. Certain caches maintained by the system will be rebuilt.

Safe mode is much slower to start up than normal. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.

When the login screen appears, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and test. There's no need to log in while in safe mode.

Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t start in safe mode. In that case, ask for instructions.

Thanks very much for the suggestion. I did a safe boot, followed by regular boot. As soon as I launched Safari, the log filled up with 249 nsurlstoraged errors. Here are the first few:

Back up all data before proceeding.

Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:

~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari

Right-click or control-click the line and select

Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)

from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item selected. Quit the application if it's running. Move the selected item to the Trash. Relaunch the application and test.

*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select

Go ▹ Go to Folder...

from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
