How find my iPhone by serial number ??

Science to straighten wipe all data from the phone via i cloud and I have now is only serial number .

How can that not be the destruction of the device by serial number .

You can't locate or wipe the device based on the serial number. You can only do that if you have Find My iPhone signed on.
