Nov 21, 2014 7:24 AM in response to kchang12by Winston Churchill,Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.
- Check AirPlay is turned on on the Apple TV (turn it off and on if it already is)
- Check that both devices are on the same network (Settings > Wifi, on the mobile device and Settings > General > Network, on the Apple TV).
- Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
- Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
- Restart your router. (Also try removing it’s power cord for at least 30 seconds)
- Restart your mobile device.

Nov 23, 2014 11:33 PM in response to Winston Churchillby kchang12,Hi Winston,
Thank you and really appreciate your suggestions and help. I followed the steps one by one during the weekend but unfortunately did not resolve the problem. Let me clarify the problem I have in AirPlay mirroring. As soon as the AirPlay mirroring is turn on on my iPad Air, the image is projected on my TV via Apple TV. However, in about 10 to 15 seconds, from the General Setting on iPad Air, I watched the WiFi connection changed to "Not Connected". Only after I switched off AirPlay mirroring I was able to reconnect the WiFi. This problem only happened since last week. Both iPad Air and Apple TV are updated to the latest software.
I'm wondering if I'm the only one experiencing this problem.

Nov 25, 2014 1:03 AM in response to kchang12by Winston Churchill,Specifically, I don't recall seeing an exact replica of your issue lately, but that doesn't mean no-one else has experienced it. Typically these types of issues are network related, are you able to test on another network, somewhere.

Nov 26, 2014 1:48 AM in response to Winston Churchillby kchang12,I'll try to find another network to test. BTW, I have no problem AirPlay from MacBook Pro to TV via Apple TV. Does it mean no network issue?

Nov 26, 2014 5:00 AM in response to kchang12by Winston Churchill,It just means you don't have an issue that affects communication between the MBP and the Apple TV, it doesn't really infer anything else.

Apr 3, 2015 6:10 PM in response to dakprojektby danielvasques,I am having this issue on my macbook pro
it's not constant and if I restart the computer, it gets back to working properly
but it is pretty upsetting to have to restart the computer when I want to mirror or expand my desktop with Airplay
It's not always... it works right for a while then out of nowhere, it happens.
Running 10.10.2 on my MBP
